About Us
We are a small private foundation founded in 2006 and made possible through the generosity of a family member. Honoring his love of music, we have created a special category of funding.
Our Purpose
To support and empower grassroots groups of indigenous women to be a positive force in shaping themselves, their families & communities and the environment that we share.
Our Vision
We envision a world:
-
where women are easily able to organize and receive the support and resources they need to create the conditions for themselves, their families, and their communities to live and work.
-
where women are equally empowered as leaders, as partners, as human beings.
-
that brings an end to patriarchy & colonialism.
We envision a funding ecosystem that undoes typical grantor-grantee dynamics.
We envision a liberation movement full of the leadership of women and marginalized people.
Our Philosophy, Values and Funding Approach
Our Foundation’s approach to giving differs from many foundations. We are a small organization. We rely upon a global network of volunteer advisers and partner with renowned international organizations to identify remarkable grassroots organizations worldwide. Our model is based upon personal relationship and trust to assure that all selected projects meet high standards of accountability.
For this reason, the PRBB Foundation is not able to accept unsolicited proposals. However, please feel free to contact us if you have experience with a remarkable group that reflects our vision. We occasionally investigate such opportunities in response to the funding interests of our engaged donors and giving circles.
Philosophy
We believe women leaders can efficiently and effectively change the world we currently live in and the future we are handing to our children.
They need simple, sincere and practical support on their journey.
We intend to conscientiously support our grant partners by offering them the funding resources they need and by using a simple, sensible grant application and reporting process.
We truly view our grantees as "partners" and strive to develop strong, respectful and meaningful relationships.
We are a small organization and do not have staff. Therefore we do not accept unsolicited funding requests.
